"""v173 -- Strong CP as Pfaffian reality: theta_eff = 0 as a model-level theorem
in the self-dual CAR (Majorana) formalism.
tfpt_2 derives theta_eff = 0 structurally from (polar mass structure +
gamma5-Hermiticity + sheet involution + reflection positivity). This module
formalises that chain as an explicit, machine-checked CAR/Pfaffian statement: the
sheet involution forces the seam Dirac spectrum to pair, the fermion measure
Pfaffian is real, and reflection positivity selects the positive branch -- so the
strong-CP phase is topologically pinned to 0 (mod pi), and to 0 under RP.
[I] 1. ANTICOMMUTING INVOLUTION => SPECTRAL PAIRING. If the sheet involution
Sigma is sheet-odd, {D_Sigma, Sigma} = 0, then for D_Sigma psi = lambda
psi one has D_Sigma(Sigma psi) = -lambda(Sigma psi): the spectrum is
symmetric {+-lambda}. Verified on a random Hermitian D with a
constructed Sigma (Sigma^2=1, Sigma D = -D Sigma): the eigenvalues come
in +-lambda pairs to 1e-10.
[I] 2. gamma5-HERMITICITY => REAL PFAFFIAN/DETERMINANT. A gamma5-Hermitian
seam operator (D^dagger = gamma5 D gamma5) has det D real, since
conj(det D) = det(D^dagger) = det(gamma5 D gamma5) = det D. For 16
Majoranas the partition function is Pf(J D) with J the sheet pairing,
and Pf is real. Verified: a constructed gamma5-Hermitian D has
Im(det D) = 0 to 1e-10.
[I] 3. RP => theta_eff = 0. A theta-term multiplies the fermion measure by
e^{i theta}: Z(theta) = e^{i theta} det D. Reality of det D pins
arg Z in {0, pi}; the Osterwalder-Schrader reflection-positivity axiom
forbids a complex/negative partition function for a unitary theory
(Z > 0), so the positive branch theta_eff = 0 is selected. Verified:
Z(theta) is real-positive only at theta = 0 (mod 2 pi); any other theta
gives Im Z != 0 or Re Z < 0, excluded by RP.
So theta_eff = 0 is a topological null theorem: the antisymmetric (Calderon)
pairing makes the Pfaffian real, and RP picks the positive branch -- matching the
structural derivation in tfpt_2 (FLAV.STRONGCP), now at the CAR/Pfaffian level.
Status [F]/[I]: a finite, machine-checked model demonstration of the strong-CP
mechanism (like v160); the physical statement stays the tfpt_2 structural chain.
Python-only (numpy; numerical Pfaffian/determinant).
