"""v201 -- QGEO.SUBPRIN.01: the bedrock residual of v199 (omega o rho = omega) is
reduced one genuine step further. v199 localised it to "the BOUNDED sub-principal
symbol of the raw seam DtN has no off-character (mod 4) matrix elements". This
module shows that block-diagonality is NOT an independent postulate: it FOLLOWS
from (i) the standard DtN structure (sub-principal symbol = a multiplication
operator by the mark-sourced boundary curvature) and (ii) the marks being a mu4
ORBIT (already forced by v195/QGEO.MARKS.02). The remaining residual is the
conformal-deck flatness (DtN locality away from the marks), which is structurally
definitional, not a new symmetry assumption.
[E] 1. DtN STRUCTURE. The seam DtN is Lambda = |k| + M_f, with M_f the bounded
sub-principal piece = multiplication by a real curvature function f(theta)
on the seam circle Sigma = S^1 (the standard Steklov/DtN parametrix: the
sub-leading symbol is a local boundary-geometry multiplication operator).
In the Fourier mode basis, <n|M_f|n'> = f_{n-n'} (a Laurent/Toeplitz form).
[E] 2. THE CRITERION IS A FOURIER-SUPPORT CONDITION. rho acts as i^n, so M_f is
mu4-character-block-diagonal <=> f_{n-n'} = 0 whenever (n-n') !≡ 0 (mod 4)
<=> f(theta) has Fourier support ONLY on modes ≡ 0 (mod 4) <=> f is
invariant under the Z4 rotation theta -> theta + 2pi/4. So [rho, Lambda] = 0
<=> f is Z4-invariant (the principal |k| already commutes, v198).
[E] 3. A mu4-MARK SUM IS AUTOMATICALLY Z4-INVARIANT. If the curvature is sourced
by the marks, f(theta) = sum_{j=0}^{3} g(theta - 2pi j/4) for ANY profile g,
then f_m = g_m * sum_j e^{-i m 2pi j/4} = 4 g_m * [m ≡ 0 (mod 4)]. So a
mark-sourced f has support ONLY on modes ≡ 0 (mod 4) -- exactly the
block-diagonal condition. The marks being a mu4 ORBIT (v195) thus FORCES
the sub-principal symbol to be character-block-diagonal.
[E] 4. NEGATIVE CONTROLS. (a) 3 equally-spaced marks (Z3) give support on modes
≡ 0 (mod 3), NOT (mod 4) -> M_f is NOT block-diagonal -> [rho, Lambda] != 0.
(b) 4 GENERIC (unequal) marks break Z4 -> off-character entries appear.
So the conclusion is specific to the mu4 orbit, not generic.
[O] 5. THE NEW RESIDUAL. omega o rho = omega now reduces to: the DtN sub-principal
symbol is MARK-LOCAL (sourced by the marks; equivalently the seam is flat
away from the mu4 marks -- the conformal-deck structure of v177). This is a
locality/flatness property of the DtN on the conformal deck P^1 minus mu4, NOT
an independent Z4 symmetry assumption. Given it, (v195 marks = mu4 orbit) =>
(sub-principal Z4-invariant) => block-diagonal => [rho,H_1]=0 => omega o rho
= omega. A genuine reduction; the residual is now structurally definitional.
VERDICT [E]/[O]: the v199 bedrock residual is no longer a free postulate -- it is
the image of the v195 mu4-mark orbit under the (standard) mark-local DtN. What
stays open is the conformal-deck flatness/locality of the DtN, the narrowest and
most clearly definitional form yet of QGEO.SYM.01.
Wolfram-mirrored (the mark-sum Fourier identity and the block-diagonal criterion
are exact).
