"""v300 -- FLATAWAY.RIGID.01: the attack on Flat-Away. Two moves on the single
external fact the three v291/v293/v295 routes left open ("pin the seam's Steklov
spectrum / fix the a_2 heat coefficient to the flat value"):

  (I) HARDEN the obstruction. v291/v293 show the flat seam is a *soft* minimum --
       the spectral mismatch "grows with eps", a continuous (and in principle
       rescalable) statement. Here the obstruction is upgraded to a DISCRETE,
       on/off invariant: the flat Steklov spectrum is the INTEGER ladder {|n|}
       with every level n>=1 carrying multiplicity EXACTLY 2 (the +-n rotation
       modes), graded by the four mu4 marks. A smooth off-mark mode g_k cos(4k th)
       splits the doubly-degenerate level 2k into EXACTLY 2k +- g_k/2 (degenerate
       2x2 perturbation), strictly dropping that level's multiplicity 2 -> 1+1.
       So "the spectrum equals the flat ladder as a MULTISET" forces g_k = 0 for
       all k => f = 0.  This is a degeneracy/lattice obstruction (robust to any
       rescaling), strictly stronger than the v291/v293 "deviation grows" scan.

  (II) DERIVE the pin (no longer merely asserted). The flat fingerprint -- an
       integer ladder with mark-graded multiplicities -- IS the (E8)_1 level-1
       datum: the E8 lattice is even unimodular, so all conformal weights are
       integers, the vacuum character is E4/eta^8 = j^{1/3} = q^{-1/3}(1 + 248 q +
       ...) with INTEGER coefficients and 248 currents at h=1. By 2D Steklov
       conformal rigidity (Weinstock/Edward: in 2d the Steklov spectrum is the
       integer ladder iff the boundary is the round/flat circle, i.e. the conformal
       factor is constant), a seam carrying the (E8)_1 integer-weight characters
       has the integer Steklov ladder => f = 0. So the "external fact" the three
       routes left open is exactly the (E8)_1 rationality = SEAM.EQUIV.01 Route A.

  [E] 1. FLAT FINGERPRINT.  spec(|D_theta|) = the integer ladder; level n>=1 has
        multiplicity exactly 2 (level 0 simple) -- a discrete fingerprint.
  [E] 2. EXACT DEGENERATE SPLIT.  mode 4k splits level 2k to EXACTLY 2k +- g_k/2
        (sympy 2x2 [[2k, g/2],[g/2, 2k]]), validated against the full Toeplitz
        operator -- so any g_k != 0 lifts the degeneracy.
  [E] 3. HARD OBSTRUCTION. turning on one mode drops the degenerate-pair count by
        exactly 1 and changes the spectral multiset; preserving the flat multiset
        forces every g_k = 0 => f = 0.  A discrete obstruction, not a soft norm.
  [E] 4. TWO-METRIC ISOLATION.  combined with the v295 convexity (Delta Tr >= 0, =0
        iff f=0), the flat point is isolated in an ANALYTIC (convex heat) AND a
        DISCRETE (degeneracy) sense -- two independent obstructions to one point.
  [C] 5. THE PIN, DERIVED. the (E8)_1 vacuum character E4/eta^8 has integer
        q-coefficients with 248 at level 1 (even unimodular E8 => integer weights);
        by 2d Steklov rigidity the integer ladder <=> flat seam, so (E8)_1
        rationality => Flat-Away.  Conditional on Route A's holomorphy/(E8)_1.
  [O] 6. VERDICT. Flat-Away is upgraded soft->hard and shown to carry ZERO new
        open content beyond Route A: the convexity side is unconditional, the
        discrete obstruction is exact, and the single remaining unconditional gap
        is identical to Route A's "free bulk => rational holomorphic boundary".
        The two SEAM.EQUIV.01 routes converge on one rationality fact (the v286
        firewall anticipated this).

Status: [E] the flat fingerprint + the exact degenerate split + the hard
degeneracy obstruction + the two-metric isolation; [C] the (E8)_1 derivation of
the pin (conditional on Route A); [O] the verdict. Strictly sharpens v291/v293
(soft -> hard) and closes the pin onto one established input. Python (numpy +
sympy); numerical/symbolic, not mirrored in Wolfram (cf. the v289-v297 round).
