"""v620 -- QGEO.NCENSUS.01: the cyclic-N census -- the seam admits N = 3
and N = 5 as Lorentz orders, and the compiler's machine-checked integral
constants pin N = 3.
The first of the two named v617 bedrock residues, made conditional.
v617 established that the conformal seam axioms force the base (mu4
marks, Mobius-rigid) and the uniform weights, LEAVING the cyclic order
N as residue (i). This probe runs the exact census over N = 2..6
(uniform weight 1 covers y^N = x^4 - 1):
(C1) RAMIFICATION CENSUS [E]: the number of points over infinity is
gcd(N, 4) -- full ramification everywhere iff gcd(N, 4) = 1,
i.e. N in {3, 5} among N = 2..6.
(C2) GENUS TABLE [E]: Riemann-Hurwitz gives g = 1, 3, 3, 6, 7 for
N = 2..6 exactly.
(C3) SHEET DIMENSIONS [E]: the chi_j character sheet of H^1 has
dimension #{branch points where chi_j is ramified} - 2; the
PRIMITIVE sheets have dimension 3 (the compiler's module rank)
exactly for N in {3, 5, 6}, and dimension 2 for N in {2, 4}.
(C4) CHEVALLEY-WEIL SIGNATURES [E]: the Hodge signatures
(h^{1,0}, h^{0,1}) per primitive sheet are: N = 3: (1,2), (2,1)
-- BOTH Lorentz; N = 5: (0,3), (1,2), (2,1), (3,0) -- the
Lorentz pair exists; N = 6: (0,3), (3,0) -- NO primitive Lorentz
sheet (the N = 6 Lorentz content sits on the ORDER-3 characters,
i.e. the N = 3 quotient). Together with C3: the seam-admissible
orders with a primitive Lorentz sheet are EXACTLY N in {3, 5}.
(C5) THE PINNING [E]: on the rank-3 Z[zeta_N] module the deck
determinant is det_Z(1 - deck) = Phi_N(1)^3 = N^3 for prime N:
27 for N = 3 (EXACTLY the machine-checked v597 constant) versus
125 for N = 5; the saturation analogue is N^4: 81 (the v566/v600
compiler self-code index) versus 625. Among the seam-admissible
{3, 5} the compiler's integral constants select N = 3 UNIQUELY.
(C6) THE READING [C]: the v617 residue (i) is now CONDITIONAL: given
the seam axioms plus a primitive Lorentz sheet, N in {3, 5};
given the compiler's machine-checked 27/81, N = 3 uniquely. The
residue moves one level down: WHY the compiler is 3-adic is
N_fam = 3, anchored in the E8 glue (240 = 16 x 5 x 3) -- named,
not derived here. GATE.QGEO does not move.
Verdict enums (frozen): N3-PINNED (all pass), CENSUS-FAILS, MIXED.
FIREWALL: GATE.QGEO does not move; no marker changes.
PROVENANCE: discovery probe cyclic_n_census_probe.py (2026-08-01, 9/9,
verdict N3-PINNED).
Python-only (sympy, exact), counted per GATE.WOLFRAM.02.
