r"""v799 -- SEAM.CODE.TYPEII.01: Type II (doubly-even self-dual) is FORCED from three physical seam axioms -- the direct attack on residual R1 of ARF.BOUNDARY.CODE.01, decided exhaustively (19/19 checks, ~5 s; discovery probe seam_code_typeii_probe.py, 2026-08-06, verdict TYPEII-FORCED). THE THREE EQUIVALENCE CENSUSES, exhaustive over ALL 308,993 subspaces of F2^8 of dim 0..4 (totals = the Gaussian binomials 1, 255, 10795, 97155, 200787; dim > 4 excluded by rank-nullity): (1) MUTUAL LOCALITY of the Construction-A boundary vertex words <=> C self-orthogonal, ZERO exceptions (braiding exponent <(c+2m)/sqrt2, (c'+2m')/sqrt2> = c.c'/2 + Z -- the lift-shift identity verified exhaustively; word-pair census all 65536 pairs; survivors per dim 1/28/165/280/135); (2) INTEGER CONFORMAL SPIN (all T sector phases i^{wt(c)} trivial, |c+2m|^2 == wt(c) mod 4 exhaustive; the eta^8 multiplier typed universal/code-independent) <=> C doubly even, ZERO exceptions (survivors 1/8/38/52/30); (3) HOLOMORPHY / INDEX ONE (|disc| = det(rescaled Gram) = 2^{8-2k} exact in Fractions; |disc| = 1 = single modular-closed sector) <=> C self-dual <=> k = 4 -- and EVERY non-self-dual doubly-even code has a word in C-perp \ C of weight != 0 mod 4, i.e. a discriminant sector of FRACTIONAL conformal weight on which the S-image cannot close (proved exhaustively; detailed witness: the [8,3] subcode of the boundary-selected C* with exact coset theta series to h <= 2, theta_{L*} != 2 theta_L). THE KILL EXCLUDED: the survivor set of (locality, integer spin, |disc| = 1) over ALL subspaces IS the Type II set = the 30 e8-hat copies (weight enumerator 1 + 14x^4 + x^8); no boundary-legal non-Type-II code exists at length 8. R1 -> R1': the universe premise 'the boundary realizes a doubly-even self-dual code' is REPLACED by the three physical axioms A1 mutual locality (trivial monodromy / bose statistics), A2 integer conformal spin (bosonic T-alignment), A3 holomorphy / index one (single modular-closed sector) -- each a standard physical demand, not a coding-theory premise; given A1-A3 the chain boundary axioms + deck + orientation bit -> unique code -> E8 -> F2^4 -> g_car = 5 stands with this single sharpened [C] residual. IMPORTED INGREDIENTS typed and machine-verified in every instance used (I1 Frenkel-Kac-Segal braiding factor, FLM 1988/Kac, Adamo-Moriwaki-Tanimoto arXiv:2407.18222; I2 h = |lambda|^2/2 lattice-VOA grading; I3 Conway-Sloane/Ebeling theta S-transform with L* = A(C-perp) verified); the OPE-linearity scope note (admissible word sets are linear codes) typed as a scope assumption. Controls: braiding monodromy -1 witness; T-phase witnesses i and -1; the [8,3] S-closure violation. Uniqueness (30 copies; the boundary data select ONE) CITED from v776, count echo verified. NO P2 marker move. No marker move, NO RH claim. Python-only per GATE.WOLFRAM.02.

PROVENANCE: discovery probe seam_code_typeii_probe.py (2026-08-06, 19/19, ~5 s, TYPEII-FORCED; frozen design SHA-hashed in-file before the censuses); re-run identically at promotion. Promoted verbatim; the probe's top-level statements are wrapped in a function scope _probe() (v791 precedent) with a return of (n_pass, n_checks, VERDICT) appended; numbers unchanged; run() encodes the pattern (v757 precedent).

Original seam_code_typeii_probe.py docstring (verbatim):
seam_code_typeii_probe.py -- SEAM.CODE.TYPEII.01 (discovery probe,
follow-up to boundary_hamming_uniqueness_probe.py / ARF.BOUNDARY.CODE.01):
derive TYPE II (doubly-even self-dual) from the boundary axioms
themselves -- the direct attack on residual R1 ("the boundary realizes
a doubly-even self-dual code" was the named universe premise).

THE CLAIMED CHAIN (frozen; each step = a machine-verified finite
equivalence + honest typing of derivation vs imported lattice-VOA lore):

  1. EIGHT SIDES: four marks x two sides -> B = F2^8, mark k owning the
     coordinate pair {2k, 2k+1} (identical bookkeeping to the prior
     probe's frozen formalization B1). A boundary code is an F2-linear
     subspace C <= F2^8 (linearity scope note: vertex-operator words
     close under OPE on the group algebra of an abelian group, so the
     admissible word set is a subgroup = linear code; typed as a scope
     assumption, not proved here).
  2. SELF-ORTHOGONALITY FROM LOCALITY.  Imported ingredient I1
     (lattice vertex algebras): the exchange of two lattice vertex
     operators V_lambda, V_mu produces the branch factor
     (z-w)^{<lambda,mu>}; mutual locality / trivial monodromy
     e^{2 pi i <lambda,mu>} = 1 requires <lambda,mu> in Z.
     [Frenkel-Kac-Segal lattice construction as used by the corpus
     v459/v165 route; unitary lattice VOAs: Adamo-Moriwaki-Tanimoto,
     arXiv:2407.18222; textbook: Frenkel-Lepowsky-Meurman 1988, Kac,
     Vertex Algebras for Beginners.] Finite version PROVED here:
     for Construction-A vectors lambda = (c+2m)/sqrt2 the braiding
     exponent is <lambda,mu> = (c.c')/2 + Z exactly (lift-shift
     identity verified exhaustively), so pairwise mutual locality
     <=> c.c' even for all pairs <=> b(c,c') := |supp c ^ supp c'|
     mod 2 = 0 <=> C self-orthogonal.  CENSUS: all 2^16 word pairs +
     ALL subspaces of F2^8 of dim 0..4 (RREF enumeration, Gaussian-
     binomial totals verified; dim > 4 self-orthogonal impossible by
     rank-nullity dim C + dim C-perp = 8, typed as elementary).
  3. DOUBLY-EVEN FROM INTEGER SPIN. Imported ingredient I2: the
     Construction-A state of word c has conformal weight
     h = |lambda|^2 / 2 = wt(c)/4 mod 1 (lattice-VOA grading;
     machine-verified: |c+2m|^2 = wt(c) mod 4 exhaustively, so every
     state in sector c has h in wt(c)/4 + Z). Modular T acts on the
     sector with the phase e^{2 pi i wt(c)/4} = i^{wt(c)} (the eta^8
     factor contributes the universal, code-INDEPENDENT multiplier
     e^{-2 pi i c_central/24} = e^{-2 pi i/3}; typed honestly -- the
     finite claim is about the code-dependent h-grading). Finite
     version PROVED: among the self-orthogonal codes, the
     Construction-A lattice is EVEN (all h integral, all T sector
     phases trivial) <=> C doubly even -- exact norm census + exact
     Z/4 phase census, with witnesses.
  4. SELF-DUALITY FROM HOLOMORPHY. Imported ingredient I3: theta
     transformation theta_L(-1/tau) = (tau/i)^{n/2} (det L)^{-1/2}
     theta_{L*}(tau) [Conway-Sloane SPLAG Ch. 4; Ebeling]; the dual of
     the Construction-A lattice of C is the Construction-A lattice of
     C-perp (verified exactly), so the discriminant group is
     L*/L = C-perp/C with |disc| = det L = 2^{8-2k}.  Finite version
     PROVED: among doubly-even self-orthogonal codes, |disc| = 1
     (single sector, S-closure of the one character possible)
     <=> C = C-perp <=> k = 4; and EVERY non-self-dual doubly-even
     code has a word c' in C-perp \ C with wt(c') != 0 mod 4
     (proved exhaustively -- if all of C-perp were doubly even it
     would be self-orthogonal, forcing C-perp = C), i.e. a sector
     with FRACTIONAL conformal weight: the S-image cannot close on
     the single character. Detailed witness: the [8,3] subcode of
     the boundary-selected C* -- exact coset theta series of all 4
     discriminant sectors computed to h <= 2 (complete), showing
     theta_{L*} != 2 theta_L and the fractional-exponent sectors.
  5. UNIQUENESS: doubly-even self-dual at length 8 = e8-hat up to
     permutation, 30 copies -- CITED from
     boundary_hamming_uniqueness_probe.py (B1.1: direct census 30,
     mass formula 135; B2-B4: boundary selection of ONE copy and the
     exact chain to E8, F2^4, q*, g_car = 5, verdict
     BOUNDARY-CODE-UNIQUE).  Here only echoed as a count-consistency
     check, not re-derived.

THE KILL (frozen): exhaustively over ALL subspaces of F2^8 (dim 0..4;
dim > 4 excluded by rank-nullity), a code satisfying the three
formalized lattice-side axioms (pairwise locality, integer spin,
|disc| = 1) that is NOT Type II must be exhibited -- or excluded.
The census decides.

HONESTY / TYPING: what the probe PROVES is the finite equivalence
chain at length 8: locality <=> self-orthogonal, T-triviality <=>
doubly-even, S-closure/index-1 <=> self-dual, exhaustively.  The
imported ingredients I1-I3 are classical lattice-VOA / theta facts,
cited above and machine-verified in every instance used. What
remains [C] (the SHARPENED residual, replacing R1): that the physical
seam satisfies the three named boundary axioms
  A1 mutual locality (trivial monodromy) of admissible boundary words,
  A2 integer conformal spin (bosonic T-alignment),
  A3 holomorphy / index one (a single modular-closed sector).
NO status-marker claim; promotion is out of scope.

CONTROLS (frozen): (C1) a non-self-orthogonal code must show an
explicit braiding-phase violation witness (monodromy -1); (C2) an
odd-weight word must show a T-phase witness (i), a weight-2 word the
phase -1; (C3) the non-self-dual doubly-even [8,3] subcode must show
the S-closure violation via its exact coset theta series.

VERDICT ENUM (frozen): TYPEII-FORCED / TYPEII-PARTIAL / TYPEII-DEAD.

Everything exact integer / Fraction / Z-mod-4 arithmetic; no floats
in any gate. FIREWALL: experiments/ probe; writes nothing; no
verification/, paper, ledger or website surface touched; typed
exploration only.
