Use the code and scientific content.

TFPT uses two licenses for different kinds of material. Choose the relevant license for what you reuse, and keep the accompanying attribution and third party notices.

Software: Apache 2.0

The original Python, Lean and Wolfram code, build tools and website implementation are licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. Its terms permit use, modification and redistribution, including commercial use, subject to the license conditions.

Keep the required license and attribution notices and identify modified files as required. The license includes an express patent grant with its stated scope and conditions.

Papers and scientific content: CC BY 4.0

The original papers, authored scientific LaTeX text, explanatory documentation and scientific illustrations are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.

You may share and adapt this material, including commercially, under the license conditions. Give appropriate credit, link to the license and indicate changes. Attribution must not suggest that the authors endorse an adaptation.

The publication authors are Stefan Hamann and Alessandro Rizzo. Cite the paper edition and version used; include the repository commit when reporting a code reproduction.

Third party material keeps its own license.

These grants cover rights held by TFPT contributors. Fonts, dependencies, quoted material and other third party works retain their existing terms. Generated pages and downloads preserve the licensing of the sources they reproduce.

  • Inter, Newsreader and JetBrains Mono retain their SIL Open Font License notices.
  • The bundled KaTeX font distribution retains its existing MIT notice.
  • Dependencies and incorporated works retain their upstream notices and conditions.

Follow the scope with the material.

The software and content licenses apply to different material; they are not interchangeable options for the whole repository. The declaration grants only rights held by the contributors and makes no claim of copyright over mathematical facts, physical laws or numerical values.

Historical publication dates and previously granted licenses are preserved. A licensing declaration does not change a scientific claim, a verification result or the conditions of a physical interpretation.
